National Day of KINdness – What We Take For Granted

Kinsmen Club of Brandon members assembled 50 mens hygiene kits that will go to Samaritan House for those in need. These are things that most of us take for granted having in our bathrooms or homes. The value of a clean and dry pair of socks can be tremendous.

2017 Ride for The Breath of Life

June 10 was a great day, the weather co-operated! Kinsmen and Kinettes raised $1508.75 for Cycstic Fibrosis Canada.

Members of the Brandon Kinsmen with a presentation cheque to Cystic Fibrosis Canada. The money will go towards research and treatment for those affected by cystic fibrosis. Let’s make cystic fibrosis history!

PASCAR Successful First Race of 2015

PASCAR held our first public race day on May 31, 2015. There was a great turn out and very exciting racing action.

Most of our race teams from last year have returned, and their cars were better than ever. We also had some new teams, and all told we had more cars on our first day of racing in 2015 than we had on our best day in 2014. And we know there are more teams building more cars, so look for 2015 to be a great year of racing!

The track has seen many improvements. The bleachers have been upgraded, a new flag stand was built, and space added for concessions. Also, the derelict structures have been taken care of.

Our next race day is June 28, 2015, see you there!

PASCAR 2015 Schedule Released

The Kinsmen Club of Brandon in conjunction with PASCAR Inc. is gearing up for our second season of racing at the Souris Stock Car track in the summer of 2015. The track adjoins the Souris Airport and has been inactive in recent years, with PASCAR revitalizing the facility in 2014.

2015 Ride For The Breath Of Life at Cycle Boyz

The 2015 Ride For The Breath Of Life at Cycle Boyz will be held on June 6, 2015.

We are changing the format this year. We are proud to announce a partnership with Cycle Boyz Customs. We are moving our weekend and site. No longer at the Sobey’s parking lot on the Saturday before Fathers Day. Instead, the event will be at

Registration will be 9 am on June 6, 2015.

The route is Brandon-Kenton-Sandy Lake-Rapid City-Brandon.

We will no longer draw cards for a poker hand, but draw a numbered poker chip out of a bucket, numbered 1-30. This means the best possible score would be 150 (5 times 30) and worst possible score would be 5 (5 times 1). There is a cash prize for best and worst score.

Funds raised will go to support Cystic Fibrosis Canada.

CANCELLED – April 18, 2015 Texas Hold’em at the Double Decker

Regretfully, due to low advance ticket sales, the Kinsmen Club of Brandon has cancelled the upcoming April 18, 2015 Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament at the Double Decker.

We thank all who were interested and bought in ahead of time, and apologize that we could not proceed with the event. We are contacting all ticket holders to arrange a refund.

We will attempt to host another event in the future.

PASCAR Test and Tune September 14

For all those who want to see “Behind the Scenes” at a race track, come out to the Souris Race Park on Sunday September 14, 2014. PASCAR will be holding another “Test and Tune” day. This is an opportunity for our racers to bring their cars out to the track and run some practice laps and try new setups without it being public race conditions. This event is not open to the public and there will be no spectator services. Everyone on the property will be required to sign a waiver of liability. However if you want to see a race car up close, are interested to see what goes in to building our class of cars, or would just like more information, please come see us on Sunday.

PASCAR Racing postponed to Sept. 7, 2014

PASCAR had scheduled a race day on Aug 24, 2014. That has been postponed to Sept. 7, 2014.

After this morning’s inspection of the track and grounds, our operations personnel determined there was too much standing water for safe racing and spectator access to the site.

Here are our revised fall dates:

• September 7 – gates open 12:00 noon, racing at 1:00 pm
• September 28 – gates open 12:00 noon, racing at 1:00 pm
• October 19 – gates open 12:00 noon, racing at 1:00 pm – for our last race of the season we hope to offer a 150 lap enduro race.
